My work explores the relationship between humans and machines through the lens of personal and inherited experience. Growing up surrounded by family who valued making, fixing, and problem solving, I learned to understand the language of tools, from tractors and sewing machines to the digital devices I use today. These intergenerational lessons taught me that tool use is more than function; it’s a way of passing down knowledge, emotion, and connection. In my art, I layer analog textures with digital imagery to reflect how our dependency on technology has shifted from tactile, shared experiences to solitary digital interactions. Through this process, I honor the hand wisdom of my grandparents while questioning what is lost as we move further into the digital age.
